1. Who we are and what we do

Internship.Network is led and run by DOES Business, the organisation responsible for operating the Platform. Internship.Network is an online platform that connects early-career candidates with businesses offering internship opportunities. We provide the technology that lets interns discover and apply for internships and lets businesses post opportunities and manage applicants. We are not a party to any internship, employment or contractual relationship formed between an intern and a business.

2. Eligibility and who this service is for

Internship.Network is designed specifically for young people aged 18 to 24 who are seeking early-career experience. To register and use the Platform as an intern you must be at least 18 years old and no older than 24 at the time of registration.

The Platform is not intended for, and must not be used by, anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that an account has been created by a person under 18, we will suspend or remove it.

By registering you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, that you meet the eligibility criteria for the account type you select, and that you have the authority to accept these terms (and, for businesses, to accept them on behalf of your organisation).

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Obligations for interns

When using the Platform as an intern, you agree to:

• Provide truthful and accurate information in your profile, applications and communications.
• Use the Platform and any opportunities in good faith and only for genuine internship-seeking purposes.
• Treat businesses and other users with respect and communicate professionally.
• Comply with the reasonable policies of any business you undertake an internship with, including their health, safety and workplace policies.

5. Obligations for businesses

Businesses that post opportunities or engage interns through the Platform work with young people, and accept additional responsibilities. By posting an opportunity or accepting an intern you represent, warrant and agree, on an ongoing basis, that you:

• Have in place, maintain, and comply with appropriate and up-to-date health and safety policies covering the working environment in which any intern will be placed, and carry out suitable risk assessments in line with applicable health and safety law.
• Hold and maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance for the activities the intern will be involved in, at a level of cover appropriate to your business.
• Hold and maintain appropriate public liability insurance covering harm or injury that could arise to the intern or third parties in connection with the placement, at a level of cover appropriate to your business.
• Provide interns with a safe, lawful and supportive working environment, appropriate supervision, and any induction and equipment reasonably needed to carry out the placement safely.
• Comply with all applicable laws relating to the engagement of interns, including employment, equality, anti-discrimination, safeguarding and data protection law, and act appropriately given that interns are young people.
• Meet any stipend or expense obligations that apply to the arrangement you offer, including the minimum stipend required for hybrid arrangements that involve in-person work as described on the Platform.
• Provide accurate descriptions of opportunities and not use the Platform to advertise roles that are misleading, unlawful, or not genuine internship opportunities.

You agree to provide evidence of the insurances and policies described above on reasonable request, and you acknowledge that we may suspend or remove any business account that we believe does not meet these obligations.

6. Listings, applications and decisions

Businesses are responsible for the content of their listings and for their own selection, interview and acceptance decisions. Interns are responsible for the content of their applications. We do not guarantee that any internship will be offered, accepted, or completed, and we do not verify the identity, qualifications or suitability of any user beyond the checks we choose to carry out. You are responsible for your own decisions about whom to work with.

7. Fees

It is free for interns to create an account, browse listings and apply. Where fees apply to any part of the service, they will be made clear to you before you incur them.

8. Training and certificates

The Platform may provide training materials and issue certificates recognising the completion of an internship or training. Certificates confirm participation as recorded on the Platform and are not a formal qualification or accreditation unless expressly stated.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose.
• Post content that is false, defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, or infringes the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with the operation of the Platform.
• Collect or harvest personal data of other users, or use the Platform to send unsolicited communications.

10. Intellectual property

The Platform and its content (excluding user-provided content) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you submit, but grant us a licence to host, display and use it as needed to operate and promote the Platform.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly set out in these terms. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, the outcome of any internship, or any loss arising from arrangements made between interns and businesses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform if you breach these terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect other users or the Platform. You may stop using the Platform and request deletion of your account at any time.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
