Come Out Of Hiding – The Lighthouse Network CIC is looking for a creative intern to help communicate the impact of our work with children, young people, adults and families across South East London. The intern will attend community sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays at our Southeast London venues. Working under supervision, the intern will help capture and share authentic stories about COOH’s programmes. The placement will include opportunities to: • Help plan social-media content around COOH’s programmes and community impact. • Capture approved photographs and short videos during sessions. • Check that appropriate consent has been obtained before recording or publishing content. • Create simple graphics, flyers, reels and programme updates. • Draft captions, participant stories and website content. • Support community outreach and promotion of upcoming activities. • Organise approved photographs and videos within COOH’s systems. • Help maintain a simple content calendar. • Gather non-identifying quotes and testimonials with consent. • Review engagement and identify the types of content that connect with COOH’s community. • Support promotion of Let’s Get Messy, STEPs, community drop-ins, SGN support and other funded activities. The intern must never photograph, film or identify a participant without the required consent. COOH-approved accounts and equipment should be used wherever possible.
Requirements
• Availability to attend on-site sessions every Thursday and Saturday throughout the six-week placement. • Interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, photography, video or community engagement. • Confidence using at least one relevant tool, such as Canva, Adobe applications or mobile video-editing software. • Clear written communication and attention to detail. • Sensitivity when working around children, vulnerable adults and confidential situations. • Understanding of consent, privacy and appropriate social-media conduct. • Ability to follow COOH’s brand guidance and approval process. • Willingness to complete COOH’s induction and required safeguarding, Prevent, GDPR and health-and-safety training. • Willingness to undertake appropriate references and an Enhanced DBS check where the duties are eligible. • A small portfolio or examples of creative work are desirable but not essential.
