Come Out Of Hiding – The Lighthouse Network CIC is seeking an intern interested in research, data and social impact. This practical placement will support COOH to strengthen the evidence generated through our funded programmes for children, young people, adults and families. The intern will attend on-site sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays at our Southeast London venues. Working under supervision, the intern will help COOH to: • Support participant sign-in and accurate attendance records. • Assist with questionnaires, feedback forms and structured participant conversations. • Explain feedback activities clearly without placing pressure on participants. • Enter, clean and organise anonymised programme information. • Check records for missing or inconsistent information. • Track participation, engagement, referrals and programme outcomes. • Help prepare simple weekly programme summaries. • Support the development of Excel, Microsoft Forms or Power BI monitoring tools. • Contribute to evidence for funder reports, case studies and impact reports. • Identify learning and recurring themes from participant feedback. • Follow COOH’s consent, confidentiality and data-protection procedures. The intern will not have unrestricted access to confidential records. Access will be limited to the information required for the placement and provided through COOH-controlled accounts and equipment wherever possible.
Requirements
• Availability to attend on-site sessions every Thursday and Saturday throughout the six-week placement. • Interest in research, evaluation, public health, social policy, data analysis or community development. • Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping. • Confidence using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Forms or similar tools. • Ability to communicate respectfully with people from different backgrounds. • Understanding of confidentiality, consent and responsible data handling. • Ability to summarise information clearly. • Willingness to complete COOH’s induction and required safeguarding, Prevent, GDPR and health-and-safety training. • Willingness to undertake appropriate references and an Enhanced DBS check where the duties are eligible. • Experience with surveys, dashboards, statistics or Power BI is desirable but not essential.
